Mar started his dance training in Southern California where he performed and trained in various movement modalities and performed works by Malashock Dance Company and by choreographers such as Sadie Weinberg, Teresa Jankovic, and David Massey while attending Mira Costa College. He later continued his training at the University of Utah and performed in works by Juan Carlos-Claudio, Katie Faulkner, Eric Handman, Stephen Koester, and Stephen Petronio. During his undergraduate studies, Mar also created and presented his own creation in many platforms including the American College Dance Association, MiraCosta Theater, Marriot Center for Dance, Jeanne Black Box Theater, Peery’s Egyptian Dance Theater, and Salt Palace Convention Center.  He is excited to be back in Utah to perform with SALT II as a part of their 2018-2019 season as well as to teach in a few local studios in Salt Lake City. 

 

Daniel started his dance training in Salt Lake City, Utah under various modalities as well. He then received the Sterling Scholar Award in Dance and continued his training at the University of Utah. During his time there, he has had the pleasure to work and collaborate with choreographers including Shaun Boyle, Juan Carlos Claudio, Katie Faulkner, Molly Heller, Satu Hummasti, Stephen Koester, Sharee Lane, Stephen Petronio, and Lesley Telford. He has been selected as a supplemental dancer with Ririe Woodbury Dance Company and is a founding member of Cat + Fish Dance, a project-based dance company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a performer, Daniel has been a part of various creative processes that have been invited to be seen at multiple dance festivals: The American College Dance Association, Breaking Ground: Dance and Film Festival, Fringe Festival, and Women in Dance Leadership Conference. He recently relocated back to Utah to be a company member with Repertory Dance Theatre.
