Lauren Broadbent is a Utah based dancer, choreographer and teacher. She began her dance training in New York City at the age of four and continued in Salt Lake City, Utah at The Winner School of Dance from 2012-2017. She represented Olympus High School as the 2016-2017 Sterling Scholar for dance and went on to be the Utah runner-up. Lauren is currently studying at the University of Utah to get her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Modern Dance, minor in Arts Technology and her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. This summer she is an apprentice on Divinity Dance Company.

 

Lauren’s work was performed at the University of Utah’s Modern Dance Student Choreography Concert in Spring 2019 and Spring 2018. She also collaborated with the band, Son Lux, in a videography project to help promote their newest album, Brighter Wounds. Lauren has returned multiple times to guest choreograph and teach master classes for both Olympus Orchesis Dance Company, and Olympus Dance Company. Lauren has also taught and choreographed at West High School and regularly choreographs and teaches for studios in the Salt Lake City area including Performing Dance Center, and The Dance Company. Her choreography has been performed at dance concerts, competitions, showcases, halftimes, assemblies, and other various events.

 

To supplement her training, Lauren has attended various dance conventions and dance intensives around the United States. In 2018 she attended SALT Contemporary’s Link Dance Festival. In 2015 and 2016, Lauren attended the New York City Rockettes Summer Intensive. She also attended the Joffrey Ballet Intensive in New York City in 2014 and attended the Ballet West Intensive in 2012, 2013, and 2014. She participated in Olympus High School’s Dance Company for three years and was a dance company officer her senior year.
